Greetings, faithful readers! It is I, Seth Axen, coming to you live from Fort Worth, Texas! Yes, we all made it in one piece (and so did our baggage). However, I did not take the same flight as the other team members, so I can only tell what I heard from their own mouths. Apparently, they expected there to be immense chaos (as would be common with most groups of teenagers ages 14 through 18). Thankfully, our group contains no loud, annoying, or immature people, so the operation ran very smoothly. The group landed at 1:30 pm and then proceeded to the car rental agency. After renting two very stylish, clean, and good-smelling minivans, they met us at the hotel.
I suppose a description of this hotel deserves its own paragraph. Our group is staying on the third floor (the top one). One guy room and two girl rooms are clustered in the middle of the hall, and the other guy room is down at the far end of the hall. This place has a very nice pool deck complete with a 50° F pool and a 100° F Jacuzzi. At least, that is the impression I gathered from Jonathan, Steve, and Matt. Overall, these rooms are extremely comfortable and we have enjoyed lounging immensely.
Next, we went out to eat. When given the choice between Bennigan’s grill and tavern and the Texas Roadhouse, we chose the roadhouse. Several of us reasoned that we will never find a Texas Roadhouse in California, so we might as well enjoy it while we can. The food was delicious.
Finally, we went to the opening ceremony. Naturally, we arrived fashionably late and took our seats in the huge auditorium. A band came up and played quite a few worship songs for us and we had a very funny (and hyper) speaker. We also heard some words from the president of AWANA. After the ceremony ended, we met up with Grace Baptist and talked for a while. Finally, we returned to our rooms.
From Texas, this is Seth Axen bidding you a good night.
